All race categories of the Ultra-Trail® Ninghai are set in the western mountainous area of Ninghai. Built around the Ninghai National Mountaineering Trail, the courses connect historical and cultural landmarks with distinctive local villages.

The routes are highly runnable but offer a diverse mix of terrain, including technically demanding sections. Runners will pass through the natural landscapes of Jiangnan — bamboo groves, tea plantations, streams, gorges, ancient paths, village roads, and forest trails.
