04 / Training advice

Prepare for changing surfaces.

The Ninghai course offers a diverse range of terrain and frequent changes in surface, which can reduce visual and mental fatigue. It also includes technically demanding uphill and downhill sections. Build regular mountain training into your routine, learn your individual fueling and hydration needs, minimize time spent at refreshment stations, and target the technical weaknesses that matter most to you. The long, technical descent around Da Duan Zhu and the Liliao–Fengshan section places particular demands on core strength and muscular endurance.
